Stumble on this gem after making a wrong turn. Saw the flag and came to check it out. AUTHENTIC HAITIAN food. Not the Americanized stuff being sold elsewhere. I got to order in Haitian Creole which to my delight most of the staff spoke. Food was superb and the service second to none! Try a Haitian cola or prestige beer.
Life changing food experience--not an exaggeration at all. I'll never forget the corn ribs and the snapper collar. I don't know what the other things were called but I remember feeling deeply content and grateful...maybe even a little mad because there's no Fritai where I live.
I wanted to try something unique so I decided to go in and I'm happy that I did I had a appetizer that was profound it was a cold dish with shrimp and a pure flavor party with each bite and them plantain chips were delicious I would highly recommend this restaurant for a cozy experience a perfect date place or even special gathering It's a restaurant I'm definitely going to to return to .
the staff was really kind, and the atmosphere super cute! food was pretty good, but not great — it was actually better the next day haha, after all the flavors sat in the same box together.
we tried clairin (?), a haitian rum — very good!! can recommend the build your own flight situation; the only pic i have is blurry haha, but it might make you feel that way post-flight
Loved everything I ordered. I didn’t get pictures of everything but I went during happy hour to receive the 50% off drinks and starters.
The drink was Rasin Kawot. Not too strong and very tasty. The plate was SOS PWA, vegan. The vegan style plate came with this delicious tofu that a green sauce on top that was very flavorful. The dessert was sweet plantain crème brûlée. It was AMAZING. My favorite thing I had. I could easily eat three of those.
I will definitely be returning here. So glad I had this experience. The staff were super friendly and I love the music and decor.
Good good and plenty of it. The portions are large enough for two people. I loved their spicy Cole slaw, but it was a little to hot for some in my group.
Really good! Even our Uber driver commented on the restaurant being excellent when he dropped us off. The staff was accommodating for our larger party and let us spread out while we waited for a larger table. The food was exceptional with a number of vegetarian options. Can't wait to go back someday and try the rest.
The oxtail sos pwa was dropping off the bone tender and full flavored. The catch of the day was perfectly cooked and the creole sauce accompaniment was so good I could have just eaten a dish of it alone.
The clairinha was well balanced between citrusy and sweet - if you like rum drinks you’ll probably like this one.
As for deserts, the chokola was surprising in its subtlety but the vegan crème brûlée stole the show for me. Highly recommended, everything was delicious!
